or is it the simplest hard project? Either way, you could conceivably build this entire piece with just two tools. I used a few more to make life easier though.

This project is easy on one hand, but you do want to pay attention to order of operation, making sure you have really nice miters/bevels, and so forth...otherwise things could go wrong fast.
